SCHOLARSHIP

This Scholarship has been awarded annually to female students graduating from Nassau County area schools since 1959. The following are the Requirements for the Scholarship Application:

  1. Applicant must be a registered Nassau County, FL high school female senior.

  2. Application should be completed by the applicant.

  3. Provide two (2) character reference letters from a school faculty member, an employer, or a community leader.

  4. Provide complete transcript including completed courses, GPA, Weighted GPA, Class Rank, and SAT and/or ACT test scores via PDF file only.

  5. Provide School Scholarship Contact email and phone number.

  6. Changes can be made until the application is submitted. If you leave the application process before submitting, the information entered will be retained as long as you open the application using the same email address.

  7. Ensure that you have entered all information and answers to the questions accurately and completely before submitting. It is difficult to make changes once the application has been submitted.

  8. Completed application and character reference letters are due and must be submitted by Friday, March 6, 2026.

2025 Scholarship Winners

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor students who make an impact on the community through their volunteer efforts and leadership qualities. The student will be considered on the following criteria:

  • Community Involvement/Volunteerism

  • Leadership

  • Academic Achievement

This scholarship is to be used to further education in academic or vocational areas and will be paid directly to the institution for tuition and/or book expenses. The amount and number of awards given is dependent on the annual fundraising of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Fernandina Beach and varies from year to year.

Last year, four deserving young women each received a $2,000 scholarship to help defray the costs of higher learning. Shown below: Maren Frederick, Resse Kubatzke, Hailey Nicole Reynolds and Berkley Vonnah.
